Robert F. "Sully" Sullivan, Jr of Franklin, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on April 22, 2019 at the Whittier Hospital, Westborough. He was 70 years old.
Bob (Sully) was born in Hartford, CT on November 22, 1948, the son of the late Robert F. and Elinor (Devanney) Sullivan.
After serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, he founded Sullivan Associates in Franklin, and for the last 30 years was its President.
He was well known in the area for his work in the Santa Foundation, a charity he and his wife Elaine founded over 30 years ago. Bob had a big heart and always wanted to help others, especially those not as fortunate.
Bob was a member of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce and served as president.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elaine, the love of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister Sheila Blair and her husband Wayne of Niantic CT, a sister Susan Sullivan of Niantic CT, his daughter Cindy Timmons and her husband Richard of Franklin, a son Jon Mellin and his wife Sheri of Chicago, Il, a son in law Jon Ross of Franklin. He also leaves behind his grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Kristin LaFlamme , Cameron Ross, Fletcher Ross, Brendan Timmons, Patrick Timmons, Madison Mellin, Lockewood Ross, Jonathan Mellin Jr., Parker Sullivan Mellin and four great grandchildren Oakley, Lakeland, Emery and Pepper.
He is predeceased by both his sister Maura Sullivan and his daughter Debbie Ross.
Friends may call at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Thursday, April 25 from 5-8 p.m.
Services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Santa Foundation, 1 Joy Street, Franklin, MA 02038. The Santa Foundation is a 501c3 charity that serves the Franklin MA and surrounding communities providing gifts during the holidays and living assistance. Approximately 900 families were served by the Santa Foundation in the last year.
