Carmela “Eva” Gatto, a long-time Medford resident died Friday while visiting with family in Arizona. She was 93.
Born and raised in Boston’s South End, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and the late Maria (Celio) Capriulo. Eva was a dedicated homemaker who loved to care for her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Rudolph. She was a devoted mother to Albert Gatto and his wife Joan of AZ, Anthony Gatto and his wife Kathy of AZ, Arnold Gatto and his wife Noreen of South Boston, John Gatto of East Boston, and Mary Anne Gatto of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Rose Harrison of Saugus.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a Requiem High Mass in Holy Trinity Church, 140 Shawmut Ave., Boston, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7 - 9.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
