Douglas A. Garron, 71, of Salem, NH, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mr. Garron was born in Malden, MA on January 29, 1934, a son of the late Alfred M. and Winifred (Nickerson) Garron Sr. He was a resident of Salem for the past 25 years. He served with the US Army during the Korean War era. Mr. Garron had been employed as a truck driver for Sunshine Bisquit and the Nabisco Co. before retiring in 1995 from Kraft Foods of Woburn, MA. He enjoyed score keeping for hockey games at the Icenter in Salem, NH and also enjoyed NASCAR racing.
He is survived by one son, Douglas S. Garron of Haverhill, MA, one step-son, Michael Brown of Merrimack, MA, two step-daughters, Melanie Brown of Derry, NH, Tracy Chapman of Haverhill, MA, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, one brother, Alfred M. Garron Jr. of Derry, one sister, Dolores Johnston of Montaque, Canada, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald D. Garron, and his sister, Jean C. Hawe.
Calling hours were on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with cremation following.
