Francis E. Powers, Jr., 60, of Derry, NH, died Friday April 19, 2019 in Parkland Medical Center, Derry. He was born in Boston, MA on April 29, 1958, a son of Patricia (Durgin) Powers and the late Francis Powers. He was proud to be an ironworker and was employed by the Local 7 Ironworkers Union. He enjoyed camping at Hidden Valley Campground in Derry. He loved his three Huskies, enjoyed music, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla (Hayward) Powers of Derry; his son, Frank Powers, III and his wife Nicole of Norton, MA; two daughters, Amanda Powers of Avon, MA, and Rebecca DiFlaminies and her husband James of Derry; seven grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia Davis of Middleboro, MA. Francis is predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Joseph and Robert Powers.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, April 23rd from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA at Nevens Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
