91, of Saugus beloved wife of the late Bernard Phillips, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital April 18th. Born, raised and educated in Boston, Helen was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Filomena (Macchia) Pirone. Helen attended both the Practical Arts school in West Roxbury and the Wilfred Academy. She was the owner operator of Helen’s Salon located in East Boston. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.
Helen is survived by her two sons Steven J. Phillips and his wife Elyse of Coventry, RI and Kenneth A. Phillips of Saugus, her grandson Judah Phillips and his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Lilah of Medford, she also leaves one sister Antonette Strangie of Saugus. She was predeceased by her siblings Carolyn Pirone, Mary Dower and Anthony Pirone. Graveside services will be held on Monday April 22, 2019 at the New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery 232 Fuller St. Everett, MA 02149 at 12:00PM. Relatives and friends are invited.
