
John J. “Sonny” Lee (Lisacki), age 76, a life-long resident of Woburn, passed away at his home following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne L. (Vangel). Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Mary (Lazari) and Santo Lisacki.
Mr. Lee was a retired manager from the A&P Food Stores. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and served on the USS Salem. Mr. Lee was a graduate of Woburn High School and was the class vice president. He was also very athletic and was a co-captain of the football team and also played baseball, basketball and participated in track & field. In the more recent years, Mr. Lee was very active at the Woburn Senior Center and was an active parishioner of St. Barbara Church where he served as a head usher for many years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Mr. Lee is survived by his daughters; Theresa Danieli of Randolph and Betty Anne Cassidy and her husband Gary of Woburn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael MacDonald and his wife Lauren, Mia MacDonald, Marisa and Mikaila Katramados, Rocco Danieli, Erica, Taylor, and Sidney Cassidy. Great grandchildren Celia Pugsley and Kayden Ruiz. He is further survived by his brother Anthony Lisacki of Woburn.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lee is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Marciano and Constance Delisle, brothers, Patrick, Joseph, Samuel, Salvatore and Peter Lisacki.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
