Paola (Amico) Scimemi, a retired seamstress and long-time Somerville resident, died Sunday at Glen Ridge Nursing Home. She was 84.
Born in Sicily, Italy, Paola was the daughter of the late Antonino and the late Francesca (Denazzio) Amico. After settling in Somerville, Paola worked in Boston’s garment district for 25 years.
She was the beloved wife of Michele Scimemi and the late Salvatore Adamo. She was the mother of Mike Scimemi of Somerville and grandmother to Allesandro and Gabriella. She was the sister of Antonino Amico and Nina Amico both of Florida.
Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 - 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Clement Church, Medford, Thursday at 9 AM.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
