Mildred “Mitzi” (Coakley) Coleman, a life-long Medford resident, died Sunday at Brighten of Medford Nursing Center, after a long illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Medford, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Ellen (Sheehan) Coakley.
She was the widow of Walter D. Coleman. She was the mother of Donald and his wife Chris of Fla, Thomas and his wife Karen of VA, John and his wife Penny of Swampscott, Scott of Arlington, Paul and his wife Theresa of IL, and Pamela Iapicca and her husband Robert of Lynnfield. Mitzi leaves 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of William of Fla., John of Ohio, Pauline Wellington of Malden, Peggy Fougere of Malden, Bernandette Toth of Ohio and the late Miriam Stagliano.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 4 - 7 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
Thursday an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Joseph Church, Medford, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
