Obituary

George J. Mangano , 86, of Hopedale, died April 10 at the Atria Hopedale following a brief illness. He was the husband of Charlotte (Harrington) Mangano for the past 63 years.

Born in Lawrence, June 15,1932, the son of the late John J. and Marion (Giamo) Mangano, Mr. Mangano had lived in Medway, Bellingham and Uxbridge for many years before moving to Hopedale a year ago.

George had operated the Keystone Barber Shop in Medway for many years.

He had been a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed golfing, cooking and spending time at the beach.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean war attaining the rank of Airman 2nd class.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Marilyn Dawe and her husband Brian of Belmont, Matthew Mangano and his wife Ann of North Providence, Rhode Island, William Mangano and his wife Barbara of Hopedale, Daniel Mangano and his fiancé Dianne Kelliher of North Attleboro, Christina Woznicki and her husband Mike of Holland, MA and Sheila Serra and her husband Sylvio of Uxbridge.

He was the father of the late George J. Mangano, Jr.

He was the brother of the late John J. Mangano, Jr , Caroline Giantonio, Ignatius James Mangano, Carmelo Mangano, Rose Giamarinaro and Frances Patti.

He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Private graveside services will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Massachusetts DAV, State House Room #546, Boston, MA 02133.
