Betty “Carol” Taylor Montgomery, 73, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with the Rev. Kevin Dawson and the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Montgomery will be laid to rest at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado.
Born June 20, 1945 in Tift County, Mrs. Montgomery was the daughter of Grace Wheelis Taylor McBrayer of Tifton and the late Homer Elmer Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of Tift Avenue Church of God. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and she loved her dogs, YoYo, Jac and Heidi.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband, Wiley Wayne Montgomery of Tifton; one son, David Montgomery of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Bob McKenzie of Middleburg, Florida, Toni and Marc Hosey of Tifton and Anita and Butch Hosey of Cumming; one brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Candace Taylor of Adel; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Troy Goff, Faye and Bobby Weldon and Tammie and Gerald Fletcher, all of Tifton and Brenda and Fred Sellars of Lenox; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin Hosey, Erin and Larry Hart, Leslie and Jamie Schluckebier, Nicole Sumner, Drew Sumner, Opal Hosey and Sarah Hosey; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
