Steven J. Contrada of Wilmington, formerly of Boston's North End, passed away on Sunday, April 7th. He was 64. Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Joanna "Jenny" (Roberta) Contrada.
Steven loved to spend time with his family and children they were his pride and joy, and his whole world. Steven had a kind disposition and a heart full of compassion and love for everyone. He was an avid golfer, and when not playing golf enjoyed sitting on the beach with his two brothers.
Steven was the devoted father of Steven J. Contrada, and Lauren Contrada and her fiancé Darren Case. He was the dear brother of John Contrada, and Robert Contrada and his wife Lucy, and the loving uncle of Jonathan, Patrick, Christiana, Isabella and Jenna. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Friday, April 12th at 8:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
