Obituary

Irving Greenblatt passed away on April 6, 2019. He was 84 years old.

Irving was a lifelong resident of Malden. He was a United States Army Veteran and was known to be a Jack of all trades, owning and operating a number of small businesses over the years. Irving also played a major part in a Tenant Advocate Chairman Role for a Housing Complex advocating for more effective rules and regulations for the people he lived around.

Irving was the beloved companion of the late Mary Mercuri. He was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Silverstein) Greenblatt. Irving was the loving step father of Joseph Mercuri and his late wife Christine, Diane Caldwell and her husband Jack, Debra Zack and her husband Steve, and David Mercuri and his wife Gina. He was the dear brother of Norma Davidson of FL and the late Marion Bryan. Irving was the grandfather of Stephanie Proszkow, J. Anthony Mercuri, George Mercuri, Kristina Michalak, Cortney Zack, Monica Zack, and Nicholas Mercuri, and great grandfather of Aria C. Mercuri, Ava Michalak, and the late Mason James Proszkow. He was the uncle of David Bryan, Alan Bryan, Elliot Bryan, and Pamela Davidson.

A service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday April 11th at 12:00pm. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Irving’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 493 Main St., Malden, MA 02148.
