Joseph W. “Billy Joe” Roberts, Sr., 77, of Tifton passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A private service and burial will be held for Mr. Roberts at a later date.
Born July 3, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Charles Homer Roberts and Annie Acia Walters. Before retiring, he worked as a supervisor for the City of Tifton.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sonia Roberts of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph II and Sharon Roberts of Sycamore; one brother, Charles Homer Roberts II of Albany; three grandchildren, Nicole Marie Quint, Nicholas William Roberts and Whitney Diane Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Lexi Grace Fender, Dyliala Jade Roberts, Chasity Lynn Roberts and Hunter Joseph McMillan.
