New Bedford – Virginia “Gina” Gomes, age 76, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in New Bedford, MA to Elsie (Martin) and John Gomes. She had worked as a fish Cutter for several Fish Processing Plants as well as Bluebird Cab.
She is survived by her son, Michael Shane Gomes of New Bedford, brothers, John “Chubby” Gomes and his wife Pat and August “Goo Goo”Gomes, a sister, Barbara Chumack, her grandchildren, Neil A. Gomes II, Mandy L. Gomes, Amber L. Gomes, and Jordan Gomes, great grandchildren, Jayden C. Bravo, Matthew Bravo Jr., Avianna M. Gomes, Noah Resendes and Avery Resendes as well as several nieces and nephews, she was the mother of the late Elsie P. Gomes and grandmother of the late Courtney Gomes. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert “Bobby “ Gomes, Richard “Dickie” Gomes, Manuel “Manny Goat” Gomes Dale Spaziano, Linda Gomes, Carol Gomes and Marie Gomes.
