Rita G. Phaneuf 88, formerly of 34 Meadow Rd. Woonsocket died Wednesday at North Bay Manor in Smithfield, RI. She was the wife of the late Albert Phaneuf. Mrs. Phaneuf was born in Oakland RI, a daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Tatro) Proulx. She was a mender for the Oakland Worsted Mill and the Rochambeau Worsted for many years retiring in 1979. She was a former member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of Victories Church.
Mrs. Phaneuf is survived by a son Richard Phaneuf of Brandon VT, a brother Gerald Proulx of Winslow ME, two sisters Celeste Blanchard of Largo, FL and Janet Poirier of S. Kingstown, two grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was also the sister of the late Russell Proulx.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in Precious Blood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI 169 George St. Pawtucket, RI 02860 in her memory would be appreciated.
