Obituary


Mrs. Anna J. Duggan, age 92, of Woburn formerly of East Cambridge passed away peacefully at the Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Newburyport, MA, March 28, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard "Dick" Duggan. Born in Cambridge, Anna was the daughter of the late William and Anna J. (Lombardi) Broughton, and lovingly raised by the late Katie (Lombardi) Broughton.

Anna was raised and educated in East Cambridge and was a graduate of the Sacred Heart School in Cambridge. Once married she and her husband settled in Woburn together raising their two sons. Anna worked for thirty three years as a quality control technician with the Polaroid Corp prior to her retirement. Anna was truly ahead of her time as a young mother holding a fulltime job but she never lost her main focus which was her family. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she cherished spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren and more recently her great grandson. She adored and loved them all. Over the years Anna enjoyed some traveling with some her more memorable trips traveling to Ireland and exploring her family history.

Anna is survived by her sons; Rick Duggan and his wife June of Rye, NH, Timothy Duggan and his wife Lisa of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Kelsey Duggan and her husband Mark Avery of Boston, Corey Duggan of Dorchester, Wendy Duggan of Billerica, and Michael Duggan of Woburn. Loving great grandmother of Desmond Avery. Cherished sister of Catherine O'Brien-Gear of Walpole, Wilma Trioli of Malden, Patricia Fuligni of Stoneham, Eileen Pasquarello of Sudbury, the late James Broughton, Marie Moscatel, Nora Broughton, Joseph Broughton, Jane Loconto and Sheila Hudnall. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Tuesday, April 2nd, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund Tribute Program, One Harvard St., Brookline, MA 02147-9795.
