Pauline Marie (Zini) Furlani, age 92, passed away on March 25, 2019. She was born on January 15, 1927 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Raffaele and Alfonsina (Ramponi) Zini. Pauline graduated from Bay Path College and worked as a medical secretary before starting her family. After her children were grown she worked as a para professional for the school department at Glenwood School for 6 years. She was also a volunteer for the Bay Path College Alumni Association and on the School Volunteer Advisory Board for 3 years. Pauline was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was an avid donor of blood to the American Red Cross. She started a local chapter in Springfield of the Sweet Adeline's Singing Chorus; was the past president of Glenwood PTA and organizer of the Scholarship Committee for over 15 years. She also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House as well as organized care packages for the Lepers. She is predeceased by her husband J. David Furlani who passed away in 2018. She is survived by her 6 children, Paul Furlani and his wife Jackie of Murrells Inlet, SC, John Furlani and his wife Kathy of Broad Brook, CT, Ralph Furlani of Manchester NH, David Furlani of East Longmeadow, Peter Furlani and his life partner Pattie of East Hampton, CT and Nancy Rose of Feeding Hills; 5 grandchildren, Dan Furlani and his wife Laurel of Boulder, CO, Donna Furlani and her husband JJ of Boulder, CO, Stephen Furlani and his wife Joan of Montgomery Village, MD, Matthew Furlani of Coventry, RI and Amanda Rose of Feeding Hills. She also leaves her 2 great grandchildren, Zachary Furlani and Eliana Furlani of Montgomery Village, MD. She is predeceased by her siblings, Cesare Zini, Florence Newton and Alice Anderson. A private graveside memorial service will be held at St Michael`s Cemetery in Springfield. The Grise` Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
