Obituary

Lewis H. "Pat" Woodbury, Jr.,88, of 22 Lake St., died Sunday, Jan.
1, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Claire J. (Houle) Woodbury, two sons James
R. and his wife Sherill Woodbury of Kokomo, Ind., and William P. and his
wife Jeanne Woodbury of Escanaba, Mich., a daughter Sandra L. and her
husband Robert Lekstrom of Thompson, Ct., a sister Dorothy Bell Whittemore
of W. Brookfield and a brother Robert E. Woodbury of Brookfield, 8 grand
children and 7 great grand children, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Woodbury was a supervisor at the former Worcester Quality Foods before
retiring in 1982. He previously worked for 40 years for several area
trucking companies.
Born in Spencer, he was the son of Lewis H. Woodbury, Sr. and Matilda
(Vernon) Woodbury and lived here all of his life. He graduated from David
Prouty High School in 1935 and Becker College in 1937.
Mr. Woodbury was involved with many organizations in Spencer including
Cemetery Commissioner, Sewer Commissioner and read water meters for many
years, a driver for Meals on Wheels Program since its inception in 1982 for
20 years, member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and sang in the choir, and
was a longtime Boy Scout Leader many years ago.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 5 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of
the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in the Old
Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Wednesday, Jan., 4 from 5 to 7p.m. In
lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Tri Valley Meal
Site c/o Dave Gervais at Howe Village, McDonald St., Spencer, or Spencer
Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer, 01562.
