Paul E. Grandmont,77, a devoted husband, beloved father and adored
"Pepe", died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Paxton Rd., Friday Dec.
30th.
Joanne S. (McEvoy) Grandmont, his loving wife of 40 years, passed away in
1994. He leaves his precious daughters Kristine M. Grandmont with whom he
lived, Kathleen R. wife of Robert F. L'Heureux of Dudley and Charlene A.
wife of Edward E. Hippert of Spencer. He was very proud of his six grand
children Sarah R., Andrew R. and Rachel A. Hippert and Alicia R., Johanna P.
and Christian R. L'Heureux and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased
by his brother Armand Grandmont in 2004.
Mr. Grandmont was a salesman for area businesses including Sears Roebuck Co.
and American Supply. He later worked for Monette Landscaping for several
years.
He was born in Spencer, the son of Louis and Olivine (Paul) Grandmont. He
graduated from David Prouty High School where he was an outstanding athlete.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Paul was a gentle, humble, unselfish man whose memory will live on in the
hearts of those he touched. He cherished the vacations he shared with his
wife and family in Maine. An avid story-teller, his ready sense of humor was
appreciated by friends and family.
He honorably served his country during the Korean War, earning three Bronze
Service Stars. He held several sales positions over the years, but his true
source of joy was his family.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's
Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the
Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 7p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Mass. Chapter
of Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St., Worcester, 01605.
