Obituary

Laura Margaret (Thibault) D'Amelio, 84, of Franklin passed away peacefully in Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on March 24, 2019 with her devoted family by her side. She was the wife of Peter J. D'Amelio.

Laura was born in Dedham, the youngest child of Joseph Thibault and Mary (O'Neil) Thibault. After graduating from Dedham High School, she was employed by New England Telephone. Laura's future was set in motion one night at a dance club when she was introduced to "Pete Damo", the handsome drummer in the band. Peter and Laura were married in 1955 and raised their four children in the home Peter proudly constructed brick by brick. Laura was the quintessential stay-at-home Mom tending to everyone's needs before her own. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and her close-knit friends, and enjoyed many years full of love, laughter, and good times. She delighted in watching people enjoy her delicious Italian cooking. When her children grew older, Laura was employed at Crow's II Office Supply and Ficco's Bowladrome and was a volunteer at the Franklin Senior Center Gift Shop. Laura endeared herself to everyone with her friendly, helpful, and kind manner.

In addition to her husband Peter of 63 years, Laura leaves behind her children, Cheryl A. Dolan and her husband Thomas of Shrewsbury, Sandra L. Baglioni and her husband Fred of Franklin, Peter J. D'Amelio and his wife Rhonda of Franklin, and Richard J. D'Amelio of Roslindale. Laura loved being a Nana to her beloved grandchildren, Thomas M. Dolan III and his fiancé Caitlen Beahn, Michael J. Dolan and his wife Ellen, Krista L. Baglioni, Samantha L. Baglioni, Katherine D'Amelio, and Peter D'Amelio. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of their special Auntie Laura. Laura was predeceased by her parents, her sister Claire Millin, and her brother Joseph Thibault.

The D'Amelio family would like to thank the staff at Atria Senior Living in Franklin, especially her primary caregivers, Marie and Ann. At the time she needed it most, Laura was blessed to receive compassionate care from Becky Forget and many "angels" employed by Salmon Hospice VNA and Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours from 9 to 11 am on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street in Franklin. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura's memory may be sent to Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill St., Franklin, MA 02038.
