Thomas A. Sherman, 71, of New Bedford died March 21, 2019 unexpectedly at home.
Born in Acushnet, son of the late Franklin and Clara Faith (Timms) Sherman, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years and later was the proprietor of Sherman Termite & Pest Control.
He was a life-member of the Wankinquoah Rod & Gun Club.
Survivors include his son, Carl Sherman and his wife Jodi of Martha's Vineyard; a daughter, Kimberly Saunders and her husband Christopher of New Bedford; his former wife, Carol Sherman; a sister, Lorrie Pepin and her husband Dennis of Acushnet; a sister-in-law, Dale Sherman of Acushnet; 4 grandchildren, Jack, Ben and Ryan Saunders and Lucas Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Timothy Sherman and Marilyn Amaral and the brother-in-law of the late Arthur Amaral.
His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 29th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Friday from 10:30 - 11 AM prior to his service. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
