Darlene A. "Cookie" Altman, 61, of New Bedford passed away Friday March 15, 2019 surrounded by her family after a courageous fight.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Jeanne (Desjeunes) Altman, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Cookie was formerly employed as a food service worker at UMass Dartmouth. She was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 328 since 2011.
She is survived by two sons, Lance J. Altman and Treg D. Altman; two sisters, Prudence Goyette and Robin Sherman; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Donna Manning, Robert Desjeunes, Achiel Altman, Wayne Altman, and George Altman.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 30, 2019 at 11 AM at the New Life Pentecostal Church, 789 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours are omitted.
