Mary McFarland, of Melrose, formerly of Malden and Charlestown, March 20th. Beloved wife of the late Francis J. “Frank” McFarland Jr. Mother of Francis J. “Fran” McFarland, III of Malden and Ilene Sasso and her husband Michael of Melrose. Grandmother of Sean, Ryan, Devin, Drew, Michael, Shauna, Joseph and Jack. Great grandmother of Callie and Jake. Sister of Peggy Ruggiero of Saugus and the late Patricia Piontrowski. Mary was raised and educated in Charlestown. She is a graduate of Charlestown High School. For over 20 years she worked as a Telephone Operator for New England Telephone. After her retirement she started work at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired from the Dexter House after 15 years of service. She was a long standing member of the Irish American Association Ladies Auxiliary in Malden. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral service conducted in the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Monday March 25th at 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9-11 AM.
