Daughter-in-law of Thomas H. Dempsey, Jr. and his wife Jane of Norwell and the late Louise Dempsey.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Bridget Church 455 Plymouth St., Abington at 9 am. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Betty’s name may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o St. Bridget Church.

Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Boutilier) Dempsey 52 years of Abington died Saturday morning at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth after a lengthy illness. She was the wife for 29 years of Thomas H. Dempsey, III. She was born in Weymouth a daughter of the late Francis W. Boutilier, Jr. and Catherine M. (Nolan) Boutilier. Mrs. Dempsey had been a lifelong resident of Abington and was a graduate of Abington High School Class of 1971. She had also attended Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Before the birth of her children she had been employed as a corporate and legal secretary.
Mrs. Dempsey had been involved at the Paula Coffey Dance Studio, East Bridgewater sewing costumes and working at the front desk. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and had been a member of the garden club and Pride Committee both in Abington.
Mrs. Dempsey had been a dedicated wife, homemaker and best friend to her husband Thomas H. Dempsey, III.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Jenn Dempsey of Whitman and Thomas H. Dempsey, IV of Quincy, her sister and brother Danielle Boutilier of Arizona and Francis “Frank” Boutilier, III of Abington. She was the daughter-in-law of Thomas H. Dempsey, Jr. and his wife Jane of Norwell and the late Louise Dempsey.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
