FALL RIVER - Maria da Conceicao(Carvalho) Rego, 86, residence 844 No. Main St. Fall River, died Sunday in Fall River at her daughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Antonio M. Rego. She is survived by: 1 Son: Frank Rego of Fall River, 6 Daughters: Maria dos Anjos Rego of Fall River, Lucia Oliveira of Fall River, Zelia Botelho of Fall River, Georgina Marques of Fall River, Conceicao "Connie" Farias of Chino, California, Angelina Moniz of Westport, Connecticut, 1 Brother: Joao Carvalho of Fall River, 17 Grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren, and Many Nieces and Nephews. She was the mother of the late Antonio & Joao C. Rego. She was the sister of the late Angelina Carvalho, Maria de Carmo Carvalho, Ana Carvalho, Antonio Carvalho, Jose Carvalho, Mariano Carvalho, and Joaquim Carvalho.
Born in Santo Antonio alem Capelas,Sao Miguel, Azores the daughter of the late Antonio Carvalho and the late Georgina (de Jesus) Carvalho. She was a resident of Fall River for 36 years, becoming an American Citizen at the age of 80. Before retiring, she had worked for Zoloft Mfg. as an Inspector. She was a member of St. Michael Church.
Her Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Wednesday, jan. 4, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael Church, Essex St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Robeson St.
