Jarvis E. Simpson, 78, of Mattapoisett died December 31, 2005 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie T. (Linhares) Simpson.
Born in Weymouth, MA, the son of the late William O. and Evelyn (Ellis) Simpson, he lived in Mattapoisett most of his life.
Mr. Simpson was formerly employed by the Highway Department for the Town of Mattapoisett for 43 years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Florence Eastman American Legion Post 280 in Mattapoisett.
Survivors include 4 sons, Jarvis Simpson, Jr. of Turner, ME, Jon Simpson of Mattapoisett, David Simpson of Onset and Douglas Simpson of East Haven, CT; 2 daughters, Jane Kinney of Rochester and Judith Glynn of Sandwich, MA; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William O. Simpson, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Wednesday, January 4th at 11 AM.
Visiting hours Tuesday, January 3rd from 4-8 PM.
