Obituary

Albert J. Lamontagne, age 94, passed away on March 6, 2019 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born on November 5, 1924 in Holyoke, a son of the late Zoel and Leda (Courchesne) Lamontagne. Albert was a life long resident of Aldenville and an active communicant of Ste. Rose de Lima Parish. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII in South America and Trinidad repairing damaged ships. He worked for the government in quality control at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks CT and also for the Springfield Armory and DCAS quality control for many years before he retired. Albert was an avid golfer. He liked living in Florida during his retirement years. He enjoyed fishing, and playing cards especially pitch and cribbage with his family. He is predeceased by his first wife Mary Jane (Ducharme) Lamontagne who died in May, 1978. He met his second wife Margery in Florida and they were married in 1985. He is survived by his wife Margery J. (McKay) Lamontagne of Chicopee; three sons, Paul Lamontagne of Chicopee, Richard Lamontagne and his wife Susan of East Dover, VT and Gerald Lamontagne and his wife Julie of Renton, WA; one brother Roger Lamontagne and his wife Rose of Memphis, TN along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Leo, Lucien, Rene, Doris and Jeannette. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Grisé Funeral Home, followed by a Mass in St. Rose de Lima Church at 11:00 AM.
