Federico Arroyo, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea. He was 79 years of age.
Federico was born on December 30, 1939 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Luis Arroyo and Martina (Melendez) Arroyo. He grew up in Yabucoa where he was educated and attended high school. Federico worked at Humbolt moving company for many years until his retirement.
Federico is the loving husband of the late Margaret E. "Penny" (Reid) Arroyo. He is the devoted father of Freddy Arroyo and his wife Tricia, Tina Arroyo and her partner Patty Suprey, Ricky Arroyo, Sonjia Arroyo, Nano Arroyo, DeDe Arroyo and her companion Ky, and Artania Leonard and her husband Michael. He is the loving Paparico to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Federico's Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Federico's name to the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club, 15 Green St. Charlestown, MA 02129
