Obituary

CHICOPEE ~ Louis A. “Lou” Brunetti, 70, a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 8, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at the Harmony House of Western Massachusetts in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on June 4, 1948, a beloved son of the late Raymond A. “Red” Brunetti and Marie Rose (Labrie) Brunetti. He was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Aldenville for most of his life. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Lou was employed for many years for Verizon Telephone where he served as a Union President. He was a longtime faithful communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville where he served his parish as a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector and a Pre-Cana Instructor. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Anita F. “Nina” (Seymour) Brunetti who was Called Home on January 21, 2001. He leaves his loving son, Anthony E. “Tony” Brunetti and his wife, Kelly, of Fiskdale, MA; his loving step-daughter, Lori M. Laughlin and her husband, William, of Chicopee; his five cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Erika, Hunter, Emma and Jared; his three dear brothers, Joseph R. Brunetti and his wife, Maryann, of Florida, Dino A. Brunetti and his wife, Kathleen, of Belchertown and Paul C. Brunetti of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. His funeral will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
