Obituary

Mr. Joseph “Joe” W. Dadiego, a resident of North Andover, formerly of Andover and beloved husband of the late Augusta M. (Borzumato) passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. He was 93 years old.

Born in Revere, Massachusetts, on August 12, 1925, he was the beloved son of the late Benigno and Vincenza (Silvestri) Dadiego. Mr. Dadiego was a US Navy WW 2 veteran, entering the military on May 25, 1944 and continued to serve in the reserves until receiving his honorable discharge on January 8, 1955. He had attained the rank of Seaman, First Class and had served onboard the NTS Sampson and the NAS Patuxent River. Joe was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Revere, MA and earned his Bachelors of Science from St. Anselm College. He had been employed as a Bacteriologist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, for many years.

In his spare time, Joe enjoyed gardening around his home, the stock market, and traveling. He also enjoyed visiting museums and woodworking. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving children; Augusta M. Dadiego of Ashburn, Virginia and Joseph W. and his wife Micheline Dadiego of North Andover. He is also survived by his loving granddaughter; Gabrielle S. Dadiego of North Andover. Sisters and Brothers-in-Law, Barbara and Ron Meyer of New York, Judy and Larry Borzumato of Rhode Island, and Ellen and the late Paul Lawrence of Virginia.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere, MA  on Saturday March 16, 2019, at Noon. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the service, from 11 AM to Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, www.nmcrs.org.
