Obituary

George Freeman Kendall of Malden, formally of Medford passed away
peacefully December 28, 2018 after a long illness. George was born in
Medford to the late Cora and Freeman Kendall. He was a loving husband for
over 58 years to Nancy (Carlson) Kendall. Brother of Robert Kendall, and
the late Edward Kendall. He was a graduate of Medford High School. George
served his country as a medic in the Army National Guard and the Army
Reserves. He worked at Computer Link in Burlington for many years. Upon
his retirement from Computer Link, he and his wife opened Ultimate Marine
Supply in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard for over 10 years. In his later
years he could be found as a greeter at Costco Wholesale Club in Everett,
MA. George loved boating and the ocean and spent nearly every summer
weekend exploring different harbors including Scituate, Gloucester,
Provincetown, Oak Bluffs, and Menemsha. He was a past Commodore of
Riverside Yacht Club in Medford, and a member of the Commodore’s Club of
America. George was awarded a full 100 Ton Captain’s License by the US
Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife Nancy, and their two sons George,
Jr. and his wife Cheryl, and Glenn and his wife Harriet. He was blessed
with 4 grandsons – 2 from each son – George III, Jimmy, Gregory, and
Matthew – along with his brother Bob and Carol and many nieces and
nephews. In lieu of a wake, a celebration of George’s life has been planned for late February. Please contact the family for more details or email [email protected]
