Obituary

Linda Silance Dixon of Provincetown passed away on Tuesday, February 26th, 2019. She was the wife of Robert ‘Tim’ Dixon.

Born in Albany, NY to Charles and Evelyn Silance, Linda attended the Albany Academy for Girls. The education she received and the many life-long friendships she developed there were cherished throughout her life. Following graduation from the Academy, she attended and graduated from Brothers College of Drew University, Madison NJ.

She worked as a copywriter for the Herald News in Passaic, NJ and for a professional organization of insurance agents in upstate New York. She loved poetry; reading and writing it.

Upon their retirement, Linda and her husband moved to Provincetown, where she had vacationed as a child and where she brought her own family for summer vacations. Linda sang with the Outer Cape Chorale for 5 years and was an engaged member of St. Mary of the Harbor Episcopal Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and their wives and partners: Bob and Dianna, J. and Lisa, and Bill and Anna; grandchildren: Madalin, Keith and Fiona; a sister and her husband: Sandy and Rob Longley; and nieces: Kate and Annie.

She is well-loved for her quiet kindness and wisdom. Linda will be sorely missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 at the Church of St. Mary of the Harbor, 517 Commercial St, Provincetown.

In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to one of these two favored institutions: Albany Academy for Girls, 140 Academy Rd, Albany, NY 12210 or the Church of St. Mary of the Harbor, 517 Commercial St, Provincetown, MA.
