Doris M. Steele, a longtime resident of Medford, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Care Center in Winchester on Monday morning, February 25, 2019. She was 91 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on August 15, 1927, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Frances (Lane) Steele. Ms. Steele worked as an Administrative Assistant for a legal office and the Archdiocese of Boston. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, traveling and going out for lunch and dinner. Above all, she was a very devoted sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed.
Doris was the loving sister of Evelyn L. Silva of Dracut. She is also survived by her many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Helen Steele, Anne Steele, Frances Steele, Grace Steele, Charles Steele, Elizabeth Steele and John Steele.
Her funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
