Rebecca M. (Reed) Fortin, 35, of Acushnet, MA died December 28, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Michael J. Fortin.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of Beverly (McCarthy) Reed of Dartmouth and the late Philip L. Reed, she lived in Michigan and New Hampshire before moving to Mattapoisett in 1995 and Acushnet in 1999. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of New Hampshire and worked in retail sales until her children were born.
Rebecca's greatest joys were her children, family and friends. All who knew her cherished her.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a son, Matthew V. Fortin of Acushnet; a daughter, Riley M. Fortin of Acushnet; her maternal grandparents, Cornelius and Patricia (Green) McCarthy of Exeter, NH; her in-laws, John and Rose (Paradis) Fortin of Barre, VT; her brothers-in-law, Eric Fortin, and his wife Cynthia, of Barre, VT and Steve Fortin of Wilmington, NC; 2 aunts, Mary Waight, and her husband William, and their children Hannah and Brendan, all of Westminister, MA and MaryBeth Lathrop of Plaistow, NH and her children, Jeff Condon, Chris Condon, Rob Condon and Marcus Lathrop.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church, 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett, MA Thursday, January 5th at 10 AM.
Visiting hours will be at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, MA Wednesday, January 4th from 4-8 PM.
Interment Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet, MA.
