Obituary

Roger Lamar Fletcher "Pecan Man", 52, of Omega died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 in Omega Cemetery. Rev. Rocky Duckworth, Jr. and Larry Raines will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at Bowen-Donaldson.

Timmy Peacock, Danny Cooper, Thomas Hatcher, Alex Cornelius, Jeff Fulghum and Edward Oliver will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Pecan Association will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Fletcher was born on December 4, 1953 in Dougherty County. He was the son of M.L. Fletcher and Pauline Livingston Fletcher, both deceased. He had lived in Tift County for 34 years.

Mr. Fletcher was a devoted family man and loved everyone. He enjoyed his line of work and spending time with family and friends and the family pet, Bubba; his livestock and tinkering with old tractors. He was a self-employed pecan shelling engineer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Raines Fletcher of Omega,; a son, John Fletcher of Omega; a daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Gabe Martinez of Omega; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny W. and Dora Fletcher of Tallahassee, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Charles Carroll of Sylvester; and three grandchildren, J. and Matthew Fletcher of Omega and Adrian Martinez of Cartersville.

Gifts may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea.
