Westport – Lillian D. (Almeida) Rezendes, 83, of American Legion Highway, Westport, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident. She was the widow of Silvey A. Rezendes.
She was born in Westport, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Piva) Almeida, and was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was a cafeteria worker for the Westport School Department. She was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. Mrs. Rezendes was a member of the Noquochoke Senior Citizens and attended Westport Council on Aging. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crafts and was endeared by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by 3 sisters: Evelyn Raposa of Westport and St. Petersburg, FL, Bella Roderick of Fall River and Anna Medeiros of Westport and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Medeiros, Viola Carreiro and Joseph Almeida, Jr.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
