Salem: Gayle R. (Luther) Casey age 46 of Salem, died Wednesday evening at the Beth Israel / Deaconess Hospital in Boston following a long illness.
She was the wife of Lewis T. Casey with whom she shared 14 years of marriage. Born in Peabody and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of Mary (Bobick) Luther of Salem and the late Nicholas Luther. A graduate of Salem High class of ’79, she was formerly employed by Varian Associates of Beverly. She loved working on the computer, her cats and doing all sorts of volunteer work especially working for St. James Bingo. She was a life long member of St. James Parish.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a brother: William J. Luther of Salem, a sister: Sharon A. Pepper and her husband Gregory of Hollywood, FL, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Saturday, December 31st at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 am.
