Obituary

BRIDGEWATER - David G.L. Cartwright, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his home in Bridgewater after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Janet (Langlais) Cartwright.

Born Jan. 2,1931, in Warwickshire, England, a son of the late George Cartwright and Dorothy (Downton) (Cartwright) Lee, he was also rasied there.

Mr. Cartwright was a graduate of Royal Wolverhampton School in England and was a standout soccer player and was an avid Wolverhampton Wanders fan his whole life.

He was a member of the Kiwinas Club of Bridgewater and served on the planning board in Bridgewater.

Mr. Cartwright was a retired contract salesman for the former Grossman’s for 25 years.

He had been a resident in Bridgewater for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Paul Cartwright and his wife Corinne of Bridgewater, Grace Young of Bridgewater and Bruce Cartwright of Boston; a brother, Walter Cartwright of Texas; his former wife, Christine Cartwright; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Eleanor Osbourne.

His funeral service will be held in the North Middleboro Congregational Church, 38 Plymouth St., North Middleboro, on Saturday at 10 am. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.

Visiting hours are Friday 4-8 pm. in The Prophett funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt.18), Bridgewater.
