David D. Araujo, 71, of Hedley Avenue, Johnston, died Sunday at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Deborah F. (Ingram) Araujo. They had been married for 48 years.
Born in Lincoln, he was a son of the late Daniel D. Gonsalves and Mary Araujo. He had lived in Johnston for over 40 years.
David was a butcher for Johnston Just Beef for 25 years before retiring.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: David Araujo of Johnston, Domingo Araujo and his wife, Sherry of Johnston, Eric Araujo of East Providence, Brandon Araujo of Coventry, Christopher Araujo of Johnston and a sister Anna Brentley of Detroit, Michigan and many grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Charlotte Duarte and Rose Marie Marques.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 pm in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church Food Pantry, 1804 Atwood Ave, Johnston, RI 02919
