Bani Chatterjee, age 89, passed away Sunday February 24 in the comfort of her home in Newton, MA. Born in Kolkata (Calcutta), India, Bani came to the United States in 1958 to join her husband, the late Dr. Suprabhat Chatterjee at their home in Brighton, MA. Bani and Suprabhat are survived by their 2 sons, Sudipta and Devasis. Sudipta and his wife Wendy Grey raised 2 children, Saurav and Tia. Saurav and his wife, Adrienne Kennick are parents of great grandchildren Kelsey and Connor. Tia and her husband, Max Wallach, welcomed their daughter, also a great grandchild. Ava in July 2018. Her son, Devasis, is married to Cynthia and are parents to their son, Devin, a freshman at Northeastern University. Bani’s family and her faith were her primary focus in life and she was a faithful devotee at the Vedanta Center of Boston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ramakrishna Vedanta Center, 58 Deerfield Rd, Boston, MA 02215. Hindu Crematory Rites and Cremation will take place at 10 AM on Saturday March 2, 2019 at Newton Cemetery 781 Walnut Street Newton, MA 02459.
