Wenham: Roland N. Senechal age 78 of Wenham, died Monday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Joanne D. (Dubord) Senechal. A devoted father and grandfather, he and his wife shared 54 years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Napoleon and Blanche M. (Talbot) Senechal. He served with the Army at the close of W.W. II and into the Korean Conflict years. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and began working for BOMAC and remained with the company when it became Varian Associates. He retired from Varian as a communications engineer in 1988. Mr. Senechal and his wife moved to Wenham from Ipswich 2 ½ years ago. He was an avid gardener & outdoor enthusiast as well as an excellent craftsman who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife Joanne, he is survived by 1 daughter: Celeste M. Dalton & devoted friend Barbara E. Grant of Newburyport, 2 sons: Paul R. and his wife Charlene Senechal of Hollis, NH, Peter J. and his wife Christine Senechal of Ipswich, 2 sisters: Claire & William Longval of Wenham, Beatrice & Rudy Belleau of Londonderry, NH, 7 grandchildren:
Kathryn & Matthew Dalton, Lyndsay, Josh & Brooke Senechal, Colin & Nicole Senechal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and an aunt. Private funeral services were held this week.
