SOUTH HADLEY, MA ~ Robert T. Koske, 78, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home on Richview Avenue in South Hadley on July 9, 1940, a beloved son of the late Michael T. and Doris F. (Miles) Koske. He was raised and educated in South Hadley and was a lifelong resident. He served his country in the United States Army and attained the rank of Private First Class. He worked for 30 years as a police officer for the South Hadley Police Department and retired as a Sergeant. Following his retirement from the police department, he was the Superintendent of Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. An avid hunter and golfer, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and was a longtime member of the Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 57 years, Carol “Rusty” A. (Moynahan) Koske; his four loving children, Donna M. Koske, Robert F. Koske and Karen C. Koske, all of South Hadley and Jodi L. Koske-Nunes and her husband, Marcel Nunes, of Ludlow; his eight cherished grandchildren, Jason, Matthew and Kelly Koske, Ryan Longe and Ashley Koske and Madison and Riley Rainaud; his three cherished great-grandchildren, Braydon and Jaxson Koske and Blakelynn Longe; his dear brother, Michael T. Koske of South Hadley; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his three dear brothers, Alan, John and James Koske. His family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Robert’s Life on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 19th Hole at the Wyckoff Country Club, 233 Easthampton Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
