Obituary

Marie C. (Duquette) Murphy, age 90, of Franklin passed away on February 18. She was the wife of the late David J. Murphy for 36 years.

Born in Brighton, August 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Delphis and Rosella (Desroches) Duquette, Mrs. Murphy had lived in Franklin for the past 64 years.

Marie had been employed by Rust Craft, Royal Tire and Master Crafts. She had also been a nurse’s aide at the former Ben Franklin Nursing Home and had also worked privately as a home health aide.

Her hobbies included singing and traveling with the Sweet Adeline’s and later in life, singing with the Silver Tones from the Franklin Senior Center. She was a volunteer for the Friendly Circle for the Blind.

Marie found great joy in attending family gatherings and taking her grandchildren to the zoo.

She is survived by her children, Karen Condon and her husband William of Denville, NJ, David Murphy of Marlboro, Maggie Forget of Easthampton, Paul Murphy and his wife Debbie of Franklin and Greg Murphy and Sue Paradis of Lunenburg.
She was the mother of the late Stephen Murphy.

She is also survived by her sister Lorena Fitzgerald and was the sister of the late Theresa Lupien, Vincent Duquette and the Rev. Delphis Duquette.

Marie is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and her beloved cat Zoey.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 27 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be private.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
