Obituary

FALL RIVER - William S. Domingos, 80, of 81 Thurber Ave., Somerset, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Husband of Joan (Robillard) Domingos for 49 years. He was the father of William Domingos, Jr. of Somerset, MA., Doris & Mark Jenkins of Dartmouth, MA., Lisa & David Nascimento of Somerset, MA., and Mary Bulygo & her Companion Alan Buckless of Somerset, MA., Three Sisters: Irene Caron and Juliette Silvia both of Fall River, and Dorothy Veloza of Swansea. Grandfather of Cora Gauthier, William Domingos III, Megan and Lauren Nascimento, Mark, Rachel, and Steven Bulygo, and Samuel and Benjamin Jenkins, and Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Arthur Domingos, Manuel Souza, and Natalie Adelong.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel S. Domingos and the late Sylvana(Bernardo) Domingos. He was a Somerset resident for 49 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II on board the LST 912 and during the Korean Conflict on board a destroyer Escort. He earned the WW II Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, and the Philippines Liberation Medal, and Seven Battle Stars. He worked at Salvo Machine Co. for many years, and also in the Sheet Metal Workers Union, as a Welder before retiring because of illness. He was a retired member of the Somerset Volunteer Fire Dept.; a member of the Somerset AM Vets, and the Mass. Chapter of the LST Assoc.

His funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Internment in Nathan Slade Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 P.M.
