Obituary

Marie Carmel Abellard Sanon was the youngest daughter of seven to Maurice and Roselia Abellard, passed away peacefully at home on Friday February 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Marie Carmel was loved by all those who encountered her presence. Marie was born on January 29, 1954, to Roselia and Maurice Abellard in La Croix-des Bouquets Haiti. Marie is survived by two daughters and a son, Sandy, Fabiola, and Kervin; Siblings: Dieula Abellard, Gerard Abellard, Verna and Marie Abellard, Roosevelt and Marlene Abellard, Edith and Marcellus family, and Bernadette and Dr. Desinor Dely; Grandchildren: Quentin, Kayla, Quamari, Karmen, and Amelyah. Her nieces and nephews: include Dr. Francel Abellard, Dr. Harold Abellard, Jean Berson Abellard, Pierre Gerald Abellard, Nicole Abellard, Megaie Abellard, Carly Dely- Millien, Jethro Dely, Marjorie Dely, Wendy Dely, Daphney Jocelin, Donn Abellard, Roosevelt Abellard, Clifford Abellard, Nathaniel Marcellus, Kathleen Marcellus, and many, many cousins.

Marie Carmel was a devoted mother who loved her children dearly. She went out of her way to be a positive role model to everyone including her siblings. She maintained committed to her education and continued on to complete her nursing degree at Laboure College. Marie Carmel had a warm and welcoming spirit, infectious smile, and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She is known for wearing a bright smile and some of the trendiest fashions of the season. It was her faith in God that carried her through her illness and remained with her until her departure.Her legacy will be lived through all the lives she touched as a dedicated nurse, loving sister, committed mother, and loyal friend. She will be truly missed.
Visiting hours are Friday February 22, 2019 from 7-9 pm at the Joseph Russo & Bros Funeral Home located at 814 American Legion Highway Roslindale. A funeral service will take place on Saturday February 23, 2019 at the First Haitian Baptist Church located at 397 Blue Hill Ave Dorchester, from 10-12 P.M. and burial will take place immediately following at the Oaklawn Cemetery located at 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, Ma. 02131
