Pistorio, Geraldine Mary “Gerry” (Mahoney) 80, of Dedham, formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully with her daughters and sons at her side on February 16, 2019. Daughter of the late John M. and Margaret T. (Canavan) Mahoney. Devoted mother of John Paul and his wife Tracey of Billerica, Joseph Leo and his partner Suzanne Hirabayashi of Homewood, CA, Barbara Ann and her husband Brian Taylor of Marshfield, James Anthony of Incline Village, NV, and Maria of Philadelphia. Geraldine is predeceased by her brother Jack Mahoney of Marshfield, sisters Joan Deady of Dedham and Barbara Mahoney of Virginia. She was the proud grandmother of 5 adoring grandchildren, Cameron Scott Taylor, Fiona Tagliente, Michael Tagliente, Mark Scanelli, Hailey Scanelli, and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. ?Gerry graduated from Roslindale High School, and after raising 5 children with her former husband John, Gerry went on to work at the Veterans Administration and Faulkner hospital in critical support roles. She also volunteered for many years as a literacy tutor for a local charity.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St Mary of the Assumption Church, 420 High St, Dedham, MA on Wednesday, February 20, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on February 20, 9-10:30 AM, immediately preceding the Mass.
