FALL RIVER – Geraldina (Silva) Almeida, age 86 of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Teresa (Camara) Silva and the beloved wife of the late Diniz Dias Almeida. Prior to retiring, Geraldina worked at San-Toro Mfg. She was also a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
Survivors include her three children: Denis Almeida (wife Lee) of San Diego, CA, Marie Payer (husband Robert) and Natalie Tavares both of Fall River; a sister: Conceicao Bettencourt of Canada; five grandchildren: Bailey Creeden, Brittany Yock, Amanda Tavares, Blaine Payer, Stacy Cabral; three great-grandchildren: Madden & Rowan Yock, and Iris Creeden; beloved nephews: Jose Manuel Camara & Adelino Silva, along with several nieces & nephews. Geraldina was also the sister of the late Jose & Manuel Silva, and Maria Camara.
A funeral for Geraldina will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, Feb. 20th at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Tuesday, Feb. 19th from 4-8 P.M.
