New Bedford – Ernestine (da Silva) Lucas, age 95, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late August Lucas.
Ernestine was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Guilhermo Augusto and Maria Gloria (Cabral) da Silva. She had been a loving homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her children, Clayton Lucas and his wife, Doris of Lakeville, Kenneth Lucas and his wife, Sharon of Lakeville, Jeffrey Lucas of Fairhaven and Joyce Braga and her husband, Scott of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Amy Isidorio, Shelley Ring, Adam Braga, Lucas Braga and Colin Braga; great-grandchildren, Evan Isidorio, Liam Ring and Leah Ring; also, her special nephew, Donald Ramos of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Ernestine’s favorite time of year was the summer and she loved going to the beach. She especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family at cookouts and get together parties. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Ernestine’s services are private.
