Bernard Deguire, 89, formerly of 346 Village Rd., Woonsocket, died Friday at Woonsocket Health Center. He was the husband of Fernande (Badeau) Deguire.
Born in St. Ours, Quebec, Canada, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cordelia (Guertin) Deguire. He was a resident of Woonsocket since 1923.
Mr. Deguire worked for the Wancantuck Company in Uxbridge, MA., for over 20 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the St. Joseph Senior Citizens, the St. Louis Senior Citizens, the Royal Travelers, and the Golden Hearts Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Raymond Deguire, of Cumberland, and Bernard Deguire, Jr., of Milford. Two daughters, Constance Choinier, of Proctorsville, VT, and Paulette Makowski, of Webster, MA., 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Stanislas Deguire, and the late Josephine Gerard, Germaine Lussier, Beatrice Leduc, and Marie Rose Heroux.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, at 10:30 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham.
