Obituary

Josephine Marie (Gianino) Giliberto passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday. She was 85. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna (Spinale) Gianino. Josephine was a devoted wife and mother who was committed to caring for her family. A Medford resident for many years she loved being with family and friends and helping to raise her grandchildren. In the summers, Josephine enjoyed spending time at her homes at White Horse and Priscilla Beaches in Plymouth. A devoted snow bird, she looked forward to spending the winters at her condo in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

The beloved wife of Costantino Giliberto, Josephine was a devoted mother to Salvatore C. Giliberto and his wife Donna (Cassarino), Christine Giliberto D’Apice and her husband Carmen, the late Vincent G. Giliberto and his late wife MaryJane (Palladino). She was a loving grandmother to Jenna Giliberto, Gerald D’Apice and his wife Jennifer (Lohmar) and Christina Giliberto. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Aidan and Lilliana Rose Doyle and Giovanni Salvatore Giliberto. The dear sister of Anna Trovato, Gloria Serrano and Charles Gianino, Josephine leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday February 15 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday 4-8 PM.
